Online Gaming Future?

The Internet age has brought us so much that's available instantaneously right in our fingertips, MMORPG's aren't like Nintendo's or even PlayStation's because there is far much more interactive things going on. When a player plays one of the traditional forms of gaming like the Nintendo and etc., it's not the same because you're only limited to your environment and you can't tell anyone if no one is home plus who cares if you beat a machine?

It's Good For a Free MMORPG

Today, for a free MMORPG to be successful it has to be nearly flawless. With intense competition from other established games and new MMORPGs coming out each and every day, developers have to constantly fix bugs and add new content to keep players hooked. If a developer is too slow to fix an exploit or inconsistent with content updates, odds are players will jump ship and shift to a new game. Searching for "Free online MMORPG" on Google today yields over 600,000 results, making alternatives to a bad MMORPG abundant.

Free Mmorpg Downloads

While it is the big names in the massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) world that get all of the publicity, there is still strong support for the underdog independent publishers who put out lesser known games. The well known MMORPGs have alot of financial backing, which in turn makes them more lucritive. These games are usually offered as free MMORPG downloads to anyone who wishes to participate and provide a great way for people to get their feet wet in the world of MMORPG games without paying the hefty monthly fees. Many of the independent game developers make titles that offer greater variety of free MMORPG downloads so there is certainly something for everyone. It just takes a little time in order to find a game online, but not impossible.

No More Fantasy MMORPGs Please!

Developers need to start turning on their creativity switches and start to move away from the generic fantasy MMO theme. There's nothing wrong with fantasy games, but that particular market is so incredibly saturated now. As an avid MMORPG gamer I want to see new games that aren't fantasy themed. Believe me; I've slain enough Orcs for two lifetimes. Games like Neosteam and Age of Armor are both breaths of fresh air in the realm of MMORPGs. I'm not claiming that Neosteam and Age of Armor are great games, but they're at least something different.

Best MMORPG Services

Contrary to popular belief, online role playing games got their start in the early 1990's and have grown incredulously. Last year, in the US alone, these games raked in a billion plus revenue and about 15 million paid and unpaid members hold MMORPG accounts. As evidenced by these figures, online role playing is no small feat!

Sony PlayStation 2

This open network is the closest thing to Internet gaming via a PC, because the developers of the online games control the access to their respective games. Some gamers might not like this idea because it means that each developer can charge them for playing the game online.

Nintendo GameCube

Granted, Phantasy Star Online is a great game that has already had an online presence with Sega's Dreamcast, but Nintendo must plan for the future and the future of console gaming is online.

Microsoft Xbox

However, its plans and a lack of an installed base compared to the PS2 hinder the Xbox's online presence for the foreseeable future. Microsoft's strategy of catering only to broadband gamers (Xbox Live) is visionary, but not necessarily sound. Broadband is the future of the Internet, but not the present.

Versus PC Online Gaming?

PC online gaming has yet to find success in either of those two genres. As far as which console platform will do the best in online gaming? The PS2 should win the online console wars as it has both the right strategy and the largest installed base of consoles with over 30 million and counting.

System Demands

First and foremost, you need to know that your system can actually the game. AS the MMORPG genre continues to sky rocket, look for system requirements to increase rapidly as well.
